Assistive Communication

Jessie B's, envisions a world where every child's educational journey is enriched through diverse and inclusive learning experiences.  Which is why we provide a blended atmosphere where all students study together whether they are a neurotypical learner, neurodivergent, or a student with a disability.  We currently are seeking funding to implement Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) technology to enrich communication for our non-verbal students.

 

AAC devices are used for nonverbal to verbal communication and includes methods and tools that help individuals with speech or language impairments communicate effectively. It can involve unaided methods like gestures and sign language, or aided methods such as communication boards and speech-generating devices. We are hoping to obtain funding for ten ACC Devices with software; below are some AAC options in order of preference:​
